Terri A. Johnson

Terri A. Johnson’s professional career has been dedicated to advocating for social, economic and racial justice.  She is the Vice President for Public Policy Reform & Advocacy for the Jane Addams Hull House Association.

 

Ms. Johnson’s experience includes:

 

  • Working with organizations and agencies to develop inclusive, anti-racist programming, professional training initiatives and projects;

 

  • Facilitating cross-cultural dialogues and providing professional development training on issues of diversity;

 

  • Managing several research projects including the Foundation’s most recent effort, Minding the Gap: An Assessment of Racial Disparity in Metropolitan Chicago;

 

  • Co-convening Women of the Millennium, a process designed to create a more inclusive and diverse women’s movement; and

 

  • Designing public education series on critical social issues.

 

Ms. Johnson is Chairman of the Board of Directors of the South Side/Wabash YMCA, a member of the Steering Committee of the Illinois Campaign for Political Reform, a member of the Center for Working Class Studies and a former member of the Board of Directors for Work, Welfare & Families.
